I am legend

In a word - disappointing. The trails promise much but the film delivers little.
Ten years, yes ten years, after a bio-engineered virus has killed 90% of the world population and turned 9.99% into flesh eating zombies Will Smith is still searching for a cure.
PLOT SPOILER - LOOK AWAY NOW
There are several logical loopholes, not least of which is; if he has been broadcasting every day (for 10 years) why hasn’t the survivor community contacted him ! What do the zombies eat when they can’t find the remaining 0.01% etc.
Frankly, I thought Shaun of the Dead was more believable and definitely more entertaining.

I think I’ll give that one a miss. thanks
Have to disagree with you HG, I thought the film was passably good.
There were holes and disappointments, true - chief amoung the later is the switch from the original source story’s take on Dr Robert Neville as “legend'’.
In the book Neville is a legend among the surviving zombie/ vampire society as a vampire killer. Here he is a legend as the saviour of man-kind. We must remember this is Hollywood - what else could one expect.
It was at least a better version of the story than Omega Man - now there’s a one-star film.
Visually, I am legend is worth the ticket price. The post-apocalyptic scenery of Manhattan Island, with it’s overgrown weeds and herds of deer running wild amoung rusting traffic jams is digital effects at their best.
Will Smith is fantastic as the sole resident of this decaying, deserted metropolis.
The zombies are passably scary (again I refer you Omega Man for comparison).
The final Act is disappointing and the film more or less languishes into predictability, sentimentality and God fetish, but all in all, I enjoyed it.
Three stars from me.
Isn’t it surprising that the ‘last man standing’ in these films is always an American. Aren’t they going to be surprised when they discover the rest of the world!
Sounds like a good reason to save my money! Of course calistermon, American film makers don’t normally know about the rest of the world except that in The Bucket List, they excelled themselves to share the spectacular views seen by our pair of unlikely heros!,
