starsign discrepancy
Published 1 year, 1 month ago in My life.I’m not really into astrology – I mean, there are only twelve star signs so what is right for you is right for one twelfth of the world population, go figure. But I was discussing it the other day and it suddenly struck me as being all wrong.
If, like me, you are born in June in the northern hemisphere then you are a Gemini. But isn’t that because the overhead constellation on that date is Gemini. If you were born in the southern hemisphere in June then the overhead constellation would be Aquarius. Surely, if the stars and planets are going to affect your fate at all it will be those ones seen in the sky when you are born, not the ones that are round the other side of the globe ?
Last word: for those of you born under Taurus, the bull – I suggest you wash your hair !

Not only that but the changeover dates , or cusps i think they call them, are also changing. The first day of Cancer used to be 22nd of June, now it’s 23rd. No wonder that we’re crabby!
Your not allowing for the ascendant & midheaven, the imum coeli, the descendant, the houses, fixed stars, the planets, conversion to Greenwich mean time, sidereal time, ruling planets, ruler’s house, rising planets, positive signs, negative signs, angular planets, mutual reception, triplicities, quadruplicities, the sun, the moon, cusps, horizon,aspects etc, etc.
Throw in midpoint theory, harmonics, Horary astrology, relocation astrology (astro*carto*graphy).
Those that believe in a 13th sign, that of arachnid the spider.

That may be true, viva, but apart from blah, blah, blah what did the Romans ever do for us ?
One thing the stars do tell us, and this is scientific fact, shown by the changes in the dates, is that the Earth is moving in its orbit, and that dear friends, is the MAIN cause of global warming, only slightly assisted by global pollution. Proved by core samples taken from the ice in Antarctica and Greenland. But don’t tell the greenies, it might upset them!

Not an expert. Earths orbit around the sun could be reverse tracked and matched to ice samples and maybe timed to reflect ice ages and the earth defrosting. But Global pollution is a new phenom created by man so comparing it to our past seems irrellavent when on daily basis we add more pollution trapping more heat, creating more pressure, increasing winds, storms and other ‘natural phenoms’. Kinda like a kids bday balloon being pumped up to breaking point me thinks. Scales gotta tip eventually and we are stepping on the gas pedal, earths orbit is well out of our control but the contributing factor isnt.
Something to consider.
