how many ?
Published 1 year, 3 months ago in My life.Question for Admin. How many nooks, nookers, nooksters, nookites are there? The number of new nooks increases daily but it seems the vast majority of these never post. Are there any sats? Can we see them?

Your audience is significant in size.
When launching nook, we always expected it to operate on the iceberg principle - one-tenth of its members being highly visible and active above surface, and nine-tenths sitting hidden below the waterline with no posts.
The majority do join and never post - perferring instead to just read. Perhaps they join without realising that membership is not required if they intend only to read.
And there is also another nine-tenths (okay, so the maths isn’t right here) that neither join nor post - but instead just read.
Interesting Admin but what are the actual figures or is that a secret.
I know it was suggest before but is there any way the number of hits on our posts could be shown too.
I think this is an accurate assessment if the people I speak to are anything to go by. The majority do read but don’t contribute. It is one reason why I don’t particularly stress about lost comments although from a visitor’s POV it must be very frustrating not to be able to load up a comment. I frequently respond as a visitor rather than a Nookster because I have to disable my security system in order to contribute a Post.
Do you actually monitor the stats enough to know that the non-active members are really reading and not just joining then leaving?
Almost 2500 nook accounts have been opened since our launch.
But membership only represents a portion of activity, as people can visit and browse without an account.
wow thats a fair amount. what are you getting out of it and/or what do you hope to get?
