apple logies everyone
Published 1 year, 5 months ago in My life.Apple logies to all my fellow nookers but whilst you were meeting at the Gulf Station I was trekking my way through the Valley of the Winds in the Olgas. It was a birthday present from my other half, one of the big O birthdays. Previous big O birthday treats have included paragliding and hot air ballooning. I get the feeling after Saturday’s trek that she might be trying to get rid of me.
It was a fantastic weekend. Seeing Ayers Rock/Ulluru for the first time is a bit like seeing the movie Close Encounters. Ooh, that’s big. Then. That’s really big. Then. &*^$% ! That’s *#)(*(%^$ BIG !
Our trek through the Olgas was hard work but definitely worth it; the views were just fantastic. And then, just as we reached the last water point, a very English voice said “Good Lord ! There’s a camel.” And sure enough there he was.
A great weekend ended with a bush dinner under the stars. Just about perfect !

That’s a great walk isn’t it?. I did it back in 1995 plus walked all the way round the rock. Did you get to the McDonnel ranges, some of those canyons are mind blowing, especially Serpentine Gorge, it feels like you’re in a cathedral!
Oh, I’m envious………and by the way……happy birthday. Hope there isn’t a 10 in front of that 0 !!!!
Well done, and i suspect you have a valid excuse for being absent at the Gulf Get together.
Wish i had been with you, and particularly so, with my camera.
Must have been a brilliant photo opportunity. Perhaps you might have some you could consider exhibiting at the exhibition.
And lastly, happppppy birthday. My next 0 birthday will be 60- very scary.
