Published 1 year, 8 months ago in Making News.Sorry ’bout that, just trying to get thru. I see your note on Testing 1 2 3 and its now clear you had some problems but it’s a pretty stingy apology and you still haven’t answered our questions.
Presumably posts get bounced by s/w but why can’t the poster be informed so that he/she can modify and re-submit. With such long delays before some posts appear it is clear some people think they are being bounced when perhaps they aren’t.
And if there is a site problem isn’t there a way that you can tell everyone ?? Would make sense to me.
BTW I expect reply by the end of the week !

It’s all part of the fun. Everyone wants instant gratification these days, but I guess some sort of moderation is necessary to avoid all the spam and net madness destroying the site, and that must be time-consuming.
Not sure what other questions you want answered. Yes admin should have alerted site members earlier that we were suffering delays but keep in mind that it was difficult to publish any posts, including any from admin. In terms of alerting members before rejecting indivudual posts or comments, we do endeavour to alert members to concerns but it is not always practical. We are reviewing functions on the site and ideally we will introduce an automatic alert encouraging members to resubmit. Again, we apologise for the delays in publication.
It would be good to have SOME SORT of home page to nook , I know its a community based site , but , a small window on the front page with nook news would be a help , similar to the featured post section….
this would show anyone who visited the main site any issues.
I agree with hannahsgranpa… two of my posts disappeared in the technical problems, and I don’t know whether it was due to the tech glitch (which I understand) or if it was because they were inappropriate (which I don’t understand).
If there were some sort of message system that tells us when our posts are deleted, we can know for sure that we said something “over the line”, fix it, and go about our business all the more informed about what is and isn’t appropriate on Nook. It would be a very welcome addition to this wonderful site. Everybody wins.
Ackbars idea is a great one Admin. In reply to the immediate question/statement posted, haven’t you you heard about patience. No matter what sort of ‘business’ you start there are always teething problems.Things don’t always turn out the way you would have anticiopated so just grin and bear it until it is sorted out.
admin , how about a small , little thing….
when a person makes a comment , they have to put in their email address , if they have a nook or not.
if a comment or post is rejected, your mode tool spitting out an automated email saying why the post was not going to be displayed.
simple … effective.
